Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
Bean Boy is built to be fun and respectful of your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Bean Boy is operated by Azalea Cyber Development(“AzaleaCD”, “we”, “us”), based in Alberta, Canada. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
Playing as a guest:your progress (Coins, unlocks, settings, and best score) is stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. We don't receive it, and it never leaves your device unless you create an account.
With an account: if you sign in with Google or with an email and password, we store your account identifier, display name, email address, a securely hashed password (for email sign-ups), and your game data (scores, unlocks, and profile) so we can sync it across devices and power the global leaderboards.
Technical and usage data: like most online services, our providers automatically process limited technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and timestamps. We use this for security, to keep scores fair (anti-cheat), and to keep the service running reliably. We do not build advertising profiles.
How we use it
We use your information to run the game, save and sync your progress, operate global leaderboards, keep scores fair, send the occasional transactional email (such as a welcome message when you create an account), respond to your requests, and protect Bean Boy and our players from fraud and abuse. We do not sell your personal information.
Consent
We rely on your consent to collect and use your personal information for the purposes described here. By creating an account or playing the game, you consent to this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account or contacting us, subject to legal and contractual limits.
Service providers and where data is processed
We share personal information only with trusted service providers who help us run Bean Boy, and only as needed to provide their service to us:
Hosting (Vercel), database (Neon), email delivery (Resend), and sign-in (Google, if you choose that option). These providers may process and store data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. As a result, your information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We take reasonable contractual and technical steps to safeguard it.
Cookies
We use a single secure, essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Data retention
We keep account information and game data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we remove your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Your rights and choices
You can play entirely as a guest, without an account. If you have an account, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw your consent. To make a request, email us at hello@azaleacd.ca. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Children's privacy
Bean Boy is friendly for all ages, but it is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. We collect the minimum needed to run the game. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections and hashed passwords, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of Bean Boy means you accept the current version.
