What is Bean Boy?
- Bean Boy is a free retro arcade game you play right in your web browser. You bounce your Bean up an endless, ever-changing garden tower, dodge the pests, grab power-ups, and chase high scores on live global leaderboards. It is a modern take on the classic endless vertical jumper, wrapped in a hand-drawn 1930s cartoon style.
Is Bean Boy free to play?
- Yes. Bean Boy is free to play, with no purchase needed to start climbing. It is supported by ads and optional premium characters you can buy if you want them. Every core character and world can also be unlocked with Coins you earn just by playing.
How do you play Bean Boy?
- On a phone or tablet, tilt your device or tap left and right to steer your Bean as it bounces higher. On a laptop or desktop, use the arrow keys or A and D to move. Land on leaves and pads to climb, grab power-ups mid-air for a boost, and avoid the pests that want to knock you down. The higher you climb, the bigger your score.
What devices and browsers can I play on?
- Any modern browser on any screen. Bean Boy runs on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops in Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox, at a smooth sixty frames a second. You can also add it to your home screen to play like an app. Native iOS and Android apps are on the way.
Do I need an account to play?
- No. You can start playing instantly as a guest. Creating a free account lets you save your progress across devices, keep your unlocked characters, and post your runs to the global leaderboards under your own name.
How do the leaderboards work?
- Every run posts your score to Bean Boy's live global leaderboards. Scores are verified on our servers to keep the ranks fair, so what you see is a real, up-to-the-minute picture of the best climbers in the world. Climb the ranks, chase your friends, and try to plant your flag at the very top.
Can I unlock new characters and worlds?
- Yes. Every hop earns Coins, and you spend them in the Shop on a whole patch of squishy, hand-drawn characters and dreamy worlds to climb through. Some premium characters are also available if you want to support the game directly.
Who made Bean Boy?
- Bean Boy is made by Azalea Cyber Development, an independent studio. Every character, world, sound, and line of code is original. If you have feedback, a bug, or a high score to brag about, you can reach a real person at hello@azaleacd.ca.
